Matt is a computational biologist that specializes in metagenomic discovery. During his PhD, postdoc, and time as a scientist at the Arc Institute, he worked on mobile genetic elements, genome engineering systems such as bridge recombinases, and the Evo genomic language models. His main interests are in solving molecular mysteries and characterizing genomic dark matter using agentic workflows.
