Today, TIME named FutureHouse Co-Founder and CEO Sam Rodriques to the 2025 TIME100 AI, a list recognizing the 100 most influential people in artificial intelligence.
To assemble the list, TIME’s editors and reporters examined the key stories in AI over the past year and consulted with expert sources and industry leaders for recommendations. The result is a list of 100 leaders, innovators, shapers, and thinkers who have a stake in the future of AI.
In November 2023, Sam Rodriques and Andrew White co-founded FutureHouse with the mission of automating scientific discovery in order to accelerate the pace of innovation within biology. In 2025, we’ve made significant progress towards our mission by:
- Launching the FutureHouse Platform, which combines four of our specialized agents that can search and synthesize scientific literature and plan chemistry experiments at superhuman levels
- Unifying the FutureHouse AI agents into a system named Robin. Using Robin, we were able to automate the key intellectual steps of the entire scientific process and achieve our first AI-generated discovery.
- Building ether0, a 24B open-weights reasoning model that has been trained on tasks in chemistry.
- Publishing research on topics ranging from an evaluation of Humanity’s Last Exam, to a benchmark of FutureHouse’s literature research agent (PaperQA2).
